Welcome South Sudan

The world's newest country is born today. What is today called South Sudan, a wet, fertile, land locked and oil rich state, it has emerged from one of the world's nastiest wars, and a brutal separation from Sudan, which is currently one of the world's most abhorrent regimes. But I really hope that the world's newest nation does not head down the typical African path of using its rich resources to bolster its own big men. South Sudan faces one hell of a challenge. It can go either way, and I hope it will be a good way...
